Dunlop Production Touring Cars
The Dunlop Production Touring Car Trophy moves ahead in 2011 as the new name for what was formerly known as the Dunlop SportMaxx Production Cup and continues to build upon it's reputation after another successful season in 2010. Having been built from a series of races it is now a respected Championship capable of attracting a healthy grid of cars.
The Championship forms part of the Dunlop Package of races which will visit seven different venues during the 2012 season. This package also has significant support from Dunlop who offer an excellent service to all competitors at these events.
Many competitors have aspirations of competing within the British Touring Car Championship and see the Production Touring Car Trophy as a way to achieve their ambition. As a result of this aim, in many ways the Championship tries to mirror many aspects of the BTCC in terms of the event format, which is explained further within this document.
The opportunity to develop a variety of different cars to suit the Championship offers challenges to both the drivers and engineers. No one vehicle is dominant within the Championship and there is the opportunity to bring new vehicles to the fore. These can be aimed at any one of the three classes and offer a realistic way to achieve success.
